Michelle N. Johnson, Wellness Educator

Endometriosis Advocate

March is Endometriosis Awareness Month. Each year millions of women and girls are impacted by this debilitating disease.  Over 176 million women are fighting a silent war that is upending their lives. It crosses ethnicity/race, age and socio-economic levels.  Endometriosis is hard to detect and often misdiagnosed.

Listen to our interview as she shares insights and strategies to effectively deal with Endometriosis. In the U.S. on average, it takes 10 years from symptom onset to receive an accurate diagnosis of endometriosis.

Some of the top symptoms include:

  1. Severe bleeding during your period (like hemorrhaging)
  2. Lower back and abdominal pain
  3. Vomiting, nausea, and headaches
  4. Prevents you from getting out of bed or doing daily activities

It hits women in the prime of their reproductive lives and impacts women and girls from age 12 to age 60. The symptoms mimic other conditions.

Michelle N. Johnson turned the pain she endured from this disease into a purpose to educate others.

As a Licensed Massage Therapist, and Wellness Educator for over 10 years, Michelle N. Johnson fights fiercely to educate, enlighten and empower individuals to become proactive participants in their health and wellness management.

She brings awareness every March to the plight of those with Endometriosis through her annual Fighting Fiercely © educational campaign and expo.  She is a member of the Endometriosis Association, and author of the Endometriosis resource guide: Fighting Fiercely: Unveiling the Unknown about Endometriosis in June of 2015. She states, “I give women a roadmap for what the next steps should be after diagnosis. I share in-depth research on treatment options and make recommendations for specialists.”

Dr. Leslie Brown, Faith Heart Coach

The chaos in our life indicates God is trying to get our attention. We can gain the clarity we need by confronting the root of our pain.  It is hard to face ourselves, but with prayer and the word of God as our light we can gain the direction we need. Our guest, Dr. Leslie Brown, was a single-mother at 16, divorced and a lived through a debilitating disease. She was ruined financially and almost lost her life. God wanted her to leave the corporate world and use her gifts to help hurting women.

Dr. Brown is a speaker, trainer and mompreneur who teaches women and young girls how to live on purpose and turn their shame into a game changing brand. She states, “We must active our faith and put in the work to do his will.” Her first book, The Thorns Within under pin name L.E. Brown can be purchased on Amazon. Her strategies for gaining clarity in your life include the following:

1.        Identify your pain point. What is causing my pain and determine the areas and why

2.        Own your story. Be truthful about where God has brought you. Tell your own story.

3.        Put in the work. Stop being lazy and sit down and get the help you need from a Pastor, life coach or therapist.

4.        Study the word of God. Pay attention to what God is saying to you through his written word.

Dr. Brown states, “You must stop being ashamed of your past and own your story.” You can contact Dr. Brown at [email protected].

Importance of Patience - Growth Under Duress

January 6, 2016
00:0000:00
Happy New Year Shine & Grind Listeners.
2015 was a year of challenges, but we have crossed another bridge into the new possibilities. The month of January we will discuss growth under duress. I will start off with a discussion on Patience. The following weeks, three dynamic women who beat the odds to thrive despite negative circumstance will be guests on the show. Join us as I interview Ms. Deneen Garrett, Ms. Kimberly Collins and Ms. Eddrina Clark as they share their strategies for growth under duress.
We all endure trails and hard times, but our patience will help us to not endure to thrive. We are warriors for Christ, not merely survivors. Luke 21:19 states, " In your patience possess ye your souls." (KJV). However, the New International Version states, "Stand firm and you will win life."  Our patience is the key to sustaining our faith walk in Christ and enduring to the end to win.
Listen in as I discuss the need to wait on God and hear his voice.  We must stand in our faith ready to hear his direction.  I also share my testimony of the physical rehabilitation my son, Justin endured in 2015 after major knee surgery.  We both needed patience for him to  successful complete his program. Today he is working out independently and preparing for the next season of sports. God is faithful if we wait on HIM.

We also have a wonderful community of women in our Facebook Group, Righteous Women of Faith. To join visit https://www.facebook.com/groups/1536935046624442/
Thank you again for joining us. I have copies of my book, Resilience: Living Life by Design available for purchase. I share my process for spiritual growth under duress in more detail.  Visit my website at www.angelinelawrence.com/landing. Every purchase in the month of January will receive a free gift.

Leadership under Pressure

Leadership under Pressure

By: Angeline Lawrence

Leadership always comes with a price. Many of us will face adversity as we seek to lead others in the right path. However, our position as leaders is a great opportunity for us to glorify God. We must remember to exude confidence and integrity when we are under pressure.

Listen in today as I discuss the steps to be a leader under pressure. God is our secret weapon and if we stand on his promises, then he will work on our behalf every time. Psalms 37:7 states, “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.”(NIV) God makes the final decision, so if he elevates us, then he will watch over us and help us win.

Thanks again for joining me on the Shine and Grind Show. I have a special offer for Shine and Grind listeners for the pre-sell of my book, "The Working Women's Guide to Winning: Defeat Satan at His Own Game with Integrity,” which will be published soon. The book will provide more strategies for overcoming life’s challenges such as workplace bullying. Get started now http://bit.ly/10GBGrx and receive a free audio chapter from the book.

I am also offering a free eBook, “Hearing the Voice of God.” Grab your copy now at www.angelinelawrence1.instapage.com.

My Sister’s Keeper by Angeline Lawrence

My Sister's Keeper
Angeline Lawrence, Host

Many of us have fallen short in some area of our life as Christians. Christ was adamant that we not judge others. Matthew 7:1 states, “Do not judge, or you too will be judged.” (NIV)     Rather, we should restore our sisters in the faith who have made mistakes, than ostracize them. Believers in the New Testament church were taught to help those that were weaker in the faith than they were.

Of course we must discern the situation and use wisdom. While some individuals are remorseful and want to rebuild their faith, there are others that are the opposite. Today, I will talk about ways to help individuals that have failed in their walk of faith, but need help to overcome. (Galatians 6:1)

As members of the Kingdom of God who are strong, it is our duty to help restore them with love and gentleness.  Romans 15:1 states, “We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves.” (NIV)

Thanks again for joining me on the Shine and Grind Show. I have a special offer for Shine and Grind listeners for the pre-sell of my book, "The Working Women's Guide to Winning: Defeat Satan at His Own Game with Integrity,” which will be published in 2015. How Deep Is Your Love?

How deep is Your Love?

By: Angeline Lawrence

The love that Christ has for us is immeasurable. However, we must show Him the depth of our love through the sacrifices we make in our lives. Matthew 10:38, states, “And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.” (KJV)  All of Christ’s followers had to prove they could love him more than anything, including money, possessions and ultimately family. We must be willing to lose our current lifestyle, and sometimes friends and family to truly walk with Christ.  Listen in as I talk about loving Christ above all things in our lives. We must stay focused by eliminating distractions that will side track us from following Christ.

Thank you again for listening. If you are seeking ways to Hear God Speak into your life, visit www.angelinelawrence1.instapage.com to obtain our free eBook, "How to Hear God Speak."  I provide 5 steps to position yourself to hear the voice of God in your spirit.
